One Handed Apple Pie

Now that we have a baby, we are slowly learning the skill of doing things with one hand... Here's my first attempt at baking a one-handed apple pie. Glad to report that it didn't turn out too badly!

Bonus- discovering you can use psyllium husk as a natural filling thickener. Pretty cool!

J's Baby Shower

A friend & colleague is having her first bub and celebrating with a shower... I thought it's just apt to make her some peanut butter baby cakes as she's having a baby and loooves peanut butter!

Bec Bix

My bestie had her baby and they said oats help with milk production so off I went on a biccy baking frenzy! These are the three types of biscuits I made - white choc & cranberry, choc chip & sultana and original oatmeal.

My Baby Shower

Yay! My baby shower went off without a hitch! Had so much fun with the games and so grateful for all the lovely presents!

We had a selection of sweet & savouries; the nappy cake went nicely with the colour scheme too. And everyone went home with a little Kahlua choc biccy treat.

My little sister is 5 and she wanted a rainbow princess cake and cupcakes ~ I was more than happy to comply :) I hope she and her guests liked it!

Whole Orange Cake

Mmm whole orange cake - made with whole organic oranges, wholemeal flour, hazelnut meal, poppyseeds, eggs and sugar.

Thought I'd bake this cake for Wallabies team spirit(for the world cup match against NZ) - served at the QAS corner. Yummo!

Thanks to Aunty M in Bega for sharing fruits of her orchard & mum for bringing them to us :)

F's Monkey Cake II

Mean ninja munkey for Fritzy-pot-pot's birthday this year.
It's a peanut butter cake with peanut butter frosting (tastes like Reese's).

Cherry Brownie Cake

This cherry brownie cake is B's very own - I was told I was lucky to catch it whole as it was going to devoured ASAP - cherry liqueur and all. The big version got raided at the work BBQ hosted at M's farm. It was great to have everyone together in a social setting and just having a great time (one last time as the Division as we know it).

Happy New Year

My MIL found a recipe for this black forest cake and it took very little urging for me to give it a go!
it was a nice and light close to a meal on NYE.

Canberra Christmas

Canberra Christmas was at Dad's this year and it was heaps fun. Lil sis R1 is really into the spirit of Christmas and helped Santa Nan give away the heap of presents under the tree!

Here's what was waiting for me under the tree when we got home.
(I loved this tea set from the moment I saw them at Oxfam).

Oh and the tiramisu I made for after dins.

Dimi's Pieces

QAT Guildies are so talented!
Check out Dimi's pieces we had for dessert!

Christmas with the Gang

B and I hosted the Gang's Christmas lunch this year and it was a blast! I managed to get most of the pressies under the tree and set up Santa's sack for kris kringle just in time too! Whew!
This is the choc mud cake I made for J and S's birthday that we celebrated that day too. Happy  to report that everyone loved how chocolatey and moist it was (oh and they really liked the Cherry Ripes and Maltesers on top too).

Looked good as a centrepiece too. :)
Ahh ready for lunch!

K turned 30 this year and celebrated with an 80’s party.
What better way to celebrate but with a flouro chocolate (K’s fave flavour) mini cupcake tower!

Caramel Mud

This is cake 2 of my weekly cake baking streak and I offered to make J’s fave caramel mudcake.
My bestfriend B’s husband J had his birthday dinner at an Italian restaurant in O’Connor.  It’s a great place to celebrate with friends – no corkage (and as you can see, we made the most of it) and they took their time to get the food out.
Mmm, I loved my eggplant parmigiana and cannelloni but could not forget husband B’s braised lamb shanks!

A great night was had by all!

My baby sister R turned four and I made her a fairy cake. It was heaps fun to make with all the sugar leaves and the mushrooms (the schrooms are my favourite!)

The cake was a Genoise sponge. It didn’t feel too spongy to me… I think it was too complicated for me to start with! And lil bro M attested to it. Hmm better luck next time…at least it looked pretty. Hehehe.
